What should I do to get the most out of my session?

The first step is to get excited! Senior photography shouldn't be an oreal, and with Mystic Images we see to is that you get something that you'll like as much as your parents will. Flexible packages mean that you'll walk away with a variety of images. When there's enough choice, everyone's happy. When you're choosing your outfits, keep this in mind; bring one outfit for your grandparents, one for the yearbook, and one for yourself. Senior portraits are all about remembering who you were.

We also recommend you bring props, especially for your theme portraits. If you are into sports, band, cars, scuba diving, fishing, etc? bring props and we will use them. In this way you will have a one of a kind portrait. We pride ourselves in being able to work with you to create the perfect image.

How many changes of clothes and poses do I get?

Some studios offer 6 to 10 poses in one outfit and one background, then charge for each additional outfit or background. You pay for the first session with one background and then pay for each additional change. Mystic Images understands seniors want variety. We offer a three, four, or five outfit session with various backgrounds for one small price.

Will my photos be taken indoor or outdoors?

This depends on the studio. Some studios only photograph indoors, and some studios only outdoors. Only a few studios photograph both indoors and outdoors. Mystic Images can photograph both indoors and outdoors in our five-outfit session.

We also have several special locations we photograph in, including the beautiful CSU Stanislaus campus and the Knights Ferry recreational park. If you choose an on-location session, you get to choose the place; we can photograph you in your home, in a more industrial area, anywhere that feels special to you.

What kind of backgrounds and props do you have?

We have over 100 backgrounds, as well as several outdoor sets. Props ranging from traditional to trendy mean that we always have what we need to create that perfect look. With our variety, we are sure we can help you create the portrait that you've always wanted. And if we don't have it here, digital artistry means that we can put you anywhere after the fact.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes buddy poses may be added for a small fee. They're a great way to make the session more fun, too.


Can I bring a pet?

Some studios charge additional for pets. We photograph pets outdoors in our five-outfit session, or at one of our special locations. We can even come to you, if your pet doesn't travel easily.

How do I get the most for the least?

Buy your portraits in packages. Evaluate whom you want to give portraits to and in what size. You then select the package that is the closest to what you want. If you buy individual portraits, they will cost you more.

We also have a wallet referral program that will let you get extra portraits for free! If your friends use your name when they place their order, you get 8 free wallets--and so do you! We've had some seniors get more than 100 wallets this way, completely free.

How long does it take to get my photos?

Yearbook prints are ready within a few days of your order. of Portrait orders are completed in 3 to 4 weeks. Announcements can take longer, depending on what kind you order. If you need your order in a hurry, please let us know so we can be sure to get it to you on time.

Do you retouch your portraits?

No image leaves Mystic Images without being professionally retouched unless you have purchased negatives. We fix blemishes, flyaway hairs, and anything else that might get in the way of your perfect portrait. Mystic Images can retouch and smooth even the worst complexions. For a small fee, we can even remove braces.

Will you know what my high school needs for a yearbook print?

Every year Mystic Images contacts each school, and checks with the yearbook adviser for specifications. We will print your yearbook print to these specifications and deliver the print to each school. Of course, it always helps if you bring in any new specifications for your school, especially if it is still early in the year. If for any reason your portrait is rejected by the yearbook staff, let us know and we will work with them to see that you have a yearbook portrait you can be proud of.

Do I get the negatives? What about web page pictures?

Negatives are available for purchase in one of two ways. The first is by taking advantage of our negative packages; the second is by purchasing the negatives with your package.

If you want an image for your web site or myspace page, just check our current seniors section to see the best of this year's seniors. We make it easy to save the image yourself, post it to a blog, even show it off in web forums. Just copy and paste. The best part is, it's completely free!
