The PPA Certified designation is granted by the Professional Photographers of America, the world's oldest and largest Association of professional photographers and image-makers. There are more than 14,000 members in 64 nations.

In addition, PPA Certification must be Renewed every five years. This means that a photographer cannot sit back on their laurels; they must participate in the continuing education program of PPA and periodically submit their work for critical evaluation to maintain their certification.
